League Staff
Ernie Almonte, Executive Director Ernie earned his B.S. in Business Administration and Master’s in Taxation from Bryant University before going on to work in a number of public and private capacities. He previously served as the Auditor General of the State of Rhode Island for over 15 years and was a partner at the RSM US LLP, the 5th largest accounting, tax and consulting firm in the country. Almonte is a native of Rhode Island and currently resides in Greenville.
Jordan Day, Associate Director Jordan is a seasoned political strategist with a passion for realizing tangible improvements in large systems. She specializes in creative problem solving, building meaningful relationships with stakeholders and is motivated by the long-term impacts to advance outcomes for the 39 cities and towns here in Rhode Island. Jordan is a Rhode Island native and serves on the boards of House of Hope CDC and Community Libraries of Providence when she’s not working for the League.
Jennifer Slattery, Director, Members Services & Training Jennifer earned her doctorate in leadership and organizational development from Northeastern University and holds a master’s degree in counseling from the State University of New York. Prior to the League, she spent a decade focused on academic administration and career coaching at Brown University and the University of Rochester. Jennifer specializes in developing training curriculums, expanding professional development opportunities and strategic planning for our members, including our six affiliate organizations.
Denise Arrighi, Office Administrator Denise is often the first voice you hear when calling the League and is the “behind the scenes” coordinator for many activities, like board meetings, legislative breakfasts, and our annual events. She manages the bookkeeping and human resources for the League and assists the Executive Director in managing the administrative functions. Denise has worked for private corporations and various law firms, and has been a valued asset of the League since 2004.
