Gloucester is a seaside community approximately 30 miles from Boston. With a central station and 3 substations, the department is staffed by approx. 70 fulltime employees with a budget of $5.4 million. Associate's degree in a fire science or related field, at least 15 years of firefighting/EMS experience, including 5 years in progressively responsible management positions and minimum rank of deputy chief or higher for 3 years, required. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in the skills necessary to successfully lead an urban fire department and be a key member of the City's management team.
